Mission Statement

To assist in the growth, development and sustainability of a responsible tourism industry through advocacy, business support and industry collaboration

Vision Statement

A lasting and successful tourism industry in the Kootenay Rockies & Boundary regions of British Columbia

Beginnings

TASK was incorporated in 1991 to specifically assist in the development of tourism products and services in the Kootenay region.  Its strategic direction was established by the Kootenay Regional Tourism Development Opportunities Strategy (1990), BC Ministry of Regional and Economic Development.  From 1991 to 1996 TASK was funded by the Province and reported to the Kootenay Regional Advisory Group (K.R.A.G.). In 1996 TASK became a membership-based organization reporting directly to its members through an elected Board.
